Château Lacaussade
Saint-Martin
Trois Moulins
AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux
Bought in 1991 by Sabrina and Jacques Chardat, this wonderful property is located in St-Martin-Lacaussade, close to Blaye, in the North of Bordeaux, on the Gironde estuary right bank. The property has existed for 2 centuries but since the purchase, Château Lacaussade Saint-Martin is today a 90 hectare vineyard with the most beautiful parcels of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux AOC.
TERROIR
Located on the first hillsides along the river and enjoyed mild temperatures and an extraordinary light, the vines are worked with precision and care on a remarkable soil made of a limestone sub-soil and a fine layer of clay on the surface with urchin fossils.

WINEMAKING & VINIFICATION
They don’t use herbicides or synthetic fertilizers any more. They implement agroecologic solutions on the entire vineyard : maintenance and plantation of hedges, and tree plantations.
The harvest is picked thank to a machine with the latest technologies to bring in the vat house only intact berries perfectly ripe, without stem, leave or wood. Then the vinification and the ageing are made in 400 liter barrels. The lees are kept and stirred in the barrels during the entire ageing.
TASTING NOTES
This cuvée is a dry white wine with a great complexity: woody hints and candied fruit and exotic fruit aromas. It has great ageing qualities and will be at its peak in 5 years. This wine can be served with foie-gras, scallops, fish casseroles or poultry, but goes too with a cheese platter or as an aperitif.
